  • Sotiria Stavropoulos, Educator

    PRESIDENT & CO-FOUNDER

  • Sotiria graduated from Hofstra University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Music, concentrated in Music Merchandising. While working in various artistic, business, and educational settings, Sotiria was later inspired to pursue, and ultimately obtained a Masters degree from Hunter College’s School of Education. Throughout her professional and academic career, Sotiria has been actively involved in the arts, studying violin, piano, voice, and traditional Hellenic (Greek) Folk dance.


    S ince receiving her Masters degree in Childhood Education, Sotiria has taught early childhood and elementary education in private, public and charter schools throughout the New York Metropolitan area.


    Sotiria is a licensed Public School Teacher in Childhood Education from the University of the State of New York Education Department. She also is a certified Zumba®, Zumba® Kids / Zumba® Kids Jr., and Zumbini™ Instructor.


    In addition, Sotiria is actively involved in choral and instrumental ensembles in New York and participates in summer workshop programs at the renowned Dora Stratou Dance Theatre in Athens, Greece.

  • Christos Stavropoulos, I/O M.A

    CEO & CO-FOUNDER

  • C hristos graduated from St. John’s University with a Major in Psychology, and a Minor in Philosophy. Upon completing his undergraduate studies, Christos then obtained a Masters Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, merging together the principles of Business and Psychology.


    M usically speaking, during this time Christos also received both a musicianship and teaching degree in Byzantine Music from the Music Conservatory of Athens, Greece. Professionally, Christos has worked as both an internal and external consultant in a wide range of industries across the country. Pairing his business experience with his background in music, he and his sister Sotiria co-founded Ume Ume to provide a balanced approach to children enrichment.
